Brazier maintains power once again

Julian Brazier has once again taken the Canterbury seat, with a massive 22,050 votes. On the night, labour dropped nearly 5,000 votes to last year, with the big surprise being the Liberal Democrats. They gathered 16,002 votes to finish ahead of Labour in second. Brazier's win means that the seat has remained in Conservative power for nearly 100 years.

Brazier spoke to yourcanterbury.com and had this to say: "It has been a huge privilege to represent Canterbury and Whitstable for the past 23 years, and I would like to thank the people of Canterbury for giving me their confidence once again."
